GET TO KNOW ME
Dr. Brittany Lashua, PhD, LPC, NCC
I created Mind & Heart Counseling because I value people and wanted to serve my community. I wanted to foster a practice where people can be their real selves, completely accepted, by someone who vows to be their most genuine self with you.
Education and Training
I obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University, with an emphasis on adolescents who were victims of sexual abuse. I completed my practicum internship at Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County. I received a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Arkansas in Human Development, Family Sciences. I have completed a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Liberty University.
Brittany has completed the coursework to be a certified sex therapist through ABSCT. Brittany utilizes level II Gottman material. The Gottman method is a research-based approach to doing couple therapy. Brittany has completed level II training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and is pursuing certification.
I also enjoy presenting at local groups, churches and conferences.
